In order to implement the national comprehensive plan for the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the national Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, to support Macao's moderately diversified economic development and the construction of the international innovation center in the Greater Bay Area, and to actively promote Macao's participation in the construction of the "Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor", the Macau University of Science and Technology has built a forefront for scientific research, the Zhuhai MUST Science and Technology Research Institute, a comprehensive and international industry university research demonstration base integrating talents.

Zhuhai M.U.S.T. Science and Technology Research Institute relies on the university's teaching and scientific research foundation. It currently has two branches of state key laboratories and nearly 20 scientific platforms in the field of innovative engineering, focusing on general health, biomedicine, modern Chinese medicine, new materials, artificial intelligence, and space research. It strives to meet the development needs of core industries such as applications, carry out frontier scientific and technological innovation for industrial applications and transformation of scientific research achievements in key areas, extensively pool resources to cultivate and gather industrial talents, while expanding its influence across the country.
